Other Information  Not listed by MD Nash, but listed by Hockly. Robert was in the British army, stationed at the Cape, during the 1810's.
In 1819 he shows up in London, and petitions to be a settler under the Government scheme.
His petition was refused.
He and his family then got free passage on a military ship to Simonstown, where they arrived in 1820.
Robert was a shoemaker in Cape Town, they never went anywhere near the Eastern Cape.
They did intermarry with the Oldham family.
