Does not appear anywhere on the NAAIRS database, on the Probate Records database, on the St Johns, Bathurst indexed records, on the Destination Albany database except as a listed Settler, on the Cape of Good Hope Gazette, or in the first few years of the Grahamstown Cathedral registers; on the indexed marriages or baptisms.
BUT
He may not have finally sailed with the Party. A man who fits his description appears in the 1851 census in Westbury on Trym as John Hancock, born Westbury on Trym, married and with the occupation of a tailor; born in 1796. (Census record HO 107 1955/76)
Someone clearly landed as John Hancock but he may have been a late inclusion. I don’t think that the real John Hancock did ever arrive at the Cape
