Other Information	Thomas Cook pulled out early on, while John Cook probably did so nearer to embarkation, although his name appears on the embarkation list. No traces of Thomas or John have been found in South Africa. Someone else may have travelled in John's place under his name, and the most logical was Samuel Birt and his family. John and Samuel were friends and John was a witness to Samuel's marriage. {per Dorothea Rowse September 2017 }
