Notes |
- When John died in 1974, he left his farm in Brits and his possessions to the children of his brother's first wife, Susie-Bell Aylward. Henry, however, contested the will as John had died before his father and claimed that therefore the farm that was given to him should revert to their fathers' estate. He found some legalese clause which could have been interpreted that way. As Dirk Cloete was unable to read/write or talk at the time, he could not state what he really wanted to do, and Henry having Power of Attorney swung the case. Ian, Dean (Brian's son), Janet and Heather eventually received about 5% each of the value of John's estate.
