- At the funeral of Jack CARRUTHERS 15th October 1951.
There was a large gathering at his gravesite; Major Walton of the Salvation Army conducted the service. Some of the mourners included Mr and Mrs Leslie Carruthers, Mr George Peake, Mr Cyril Peake and son Vivian, Mrs Dorothy and Francis Bradfield, Miss M Barker, Councillor R M Cleveland, Mr W Richards and Major and Mrs S Bennet. African trumpeters of the B.S.A.P. played the Last Post.
