Harry was Ted's brother, I think and reading between the lines a bit, I think he might have been the owner of Sandfontein because Ted always seems to have battled. Janet Bremner, according to my mother, was an exceedingly nice person and very dedicated to her work in the Infectious Diseases Isolation Unit in Pretoria (I'm not sure about this name).
