- He was a Tank Commander. Extract from 'The Bowkers of Tharfield' by Ivan Mitford-Barberton:
Corporal S.S.B. Tank crew commander 6th S.A Armoured Division. Received shell wound in the head
while in action outside Florence, Italy and died in the 65 British General Hospital.
