Notes |
- From Notes of Margaret I Gillham: "In loving memory of Elizabeth Farrant who died at Dove Cottage,Culmstock, August 6th 1922, aged 76 years. Culmstock: Death of Miss Farrant. The village lost one of its most revered parishioners on Sunday the 6th inst by the calling to her rest at the age of 76 of Miss Elizabeth Farrant after a very long and painful illness. Miss Farrant was the elder daughter of the late Mr Henry Farrant of Poor Cottage and for nearly half a century gave her services as organist of the church . She was a talented musician and was always ready to lend her aid at charitable entertainments. during her illness she was most devotedly nursed by Miss Grace Burroughs who had served the family for the past 40 years. The funeral took place on Friday. The service which was choral was conducted by the vicar, the Rev Tortimo Poole and was attended by many relatives and friends. there were numerous beautiful floral tributes. The vicar made appreciative references to Miss Farrant in his sermon Sunday morning."
