Drumgold, Enniscorthy

August 27th 1819

Most Noble Earl,

I avail myself of the present opportunity of informing your Lordship, in consequence of your encouragement to Irish emigrants, that I live in Drumgold Enniscorthy County Wexford Ireland and am inclined to depart to North America or the Cape of Good Hope with 21 emigrants, and as I am not as yet determined to which I’ll steer, tho after disposing of my entire property here from the 29th September I hope your Lordship will be so kind as to remit me an account of the encouragement offered to settlers in both places and I will avail myself of the one most favourable, and you’ll ever oblige your Lordship’s most humble & expecting servant

Edward STEACY

PS I wish the account to com [obscured] as I have preparations made
