Sir

I beg leave to acquaint you that it is my desire to propose to his Majesty's Government becoming a Settler at the Cape of Good Hope for which purpose I am prepared to comply with the conditions laid down.  I therefore beg you will be pleas’d to furnish me with necessary information as to the mode I am to adopt for the attainment of such object.  I herewith annex a list of the names of the people I intend taking out with me exclusive of their families.
