Sir,

            I am a man possessed of about £300-0-0 ready money and a large stock in the farming line. I have also seven sons under 14 and 4 between 14 and 18 years of age, several of them understands tilling the land and are well acquainted with the nature of husbandry in all its branches and I wish to take them to the Cape of Good Hope. I most humbly beg your honor will please to inform me when and to whom I may apply for a passage. By granting the solicited information you will greatly oblidge, Honor’d Sir,
