My Lord,

            I having been informed it his the British Government’s intention to send out a portion of thier subjects to coolonise the Cape of good hope I shall feel it no small honour confered on me was your Lordship to condesend to favour me with a few lines conserning the time of going and the terms.

            As I feel a great inclination to go should I be capable of meeting the requirements that persons are to be posesed off which are permited to go.

            Humbly intreating your Lordships permission for granting me leave to go will be one of those favours Unmeritoriously confered on your Lordships supplecant that I must ever remain my Lord
