My Lord,
Having seen a copy of a letter to the Mayor of London holding out encouragement to persons wishing to emigrate to the Cape of Good Hope, and wishing if possible to avail myself thereof. I beg to be informed, does it extend to this part of the Empire? If so your Lordship will be pleased to acquaint me what capital will be necessary to cultivate one thousand acres and to support ten families, consisting of a man, his wife and six children each, untill the produce of the land could be depended on.
