My Lord,

I shall feel obliged by your Lordships favoring me with a prospectus of the plan for the emigrants going from this country to the Cape of Good Hope and likewise the grants that would be made – and presuming a man has a wife and eight children, all nearly grown up, and possessed of a few hundred pounds only, whether and what grants would be made in the vicinity of Cape Town. Of course investigating his small capital in the undertaking to procure a genteel and comfortable livelihood for his wife and family.

Trusting your Lordship will pardon the trouble I am giving you

I have the honor to remain my Lord

Your Lordship’s most obedient & devoted servt

Ellis HEEDHAM
