            I have today taken the opportunity to inform you that i have solicited ten in number as the gentleman ordered me and would be very glad to know in what case we are to act in the [hole in paper] going out to the Cape of Good Hope.

            As it was the request of you for me to submit a detailed statement of the number of persons who intend settling at the Cape of Good Hope the following is a correct statement of the number, age &c of whom I am fully assured will accompany me to that Colony.
