May it please your Lordship

Understanding that emigration is encouraged by His Majesty’s Ministers to the Cape of Good Hope I beg to trouble your Lordship with the following question, in doing which I trust I may receive your Lordship’s pardon.

Supposing an emigrant is possess of £2000 or £3000 I beg to ask what is the probale advantage or benefit he may expect in embarking the same in the aforesaid speculation. If your Lordship will have the goodness to favour me with an answer you will oblige
