Sir,

A paragraph appeared in the “Times Newspaper” of the 18th inst containing a set of articles purporting to be by authority of the Secretary of State for the Colonial Department holding out to the public who were desirous of emigrating an offer of settlement in the district of the Cape of Good Hope with the aid & under the protection of His Majesty’s Government.

The writer of this along with some others having a desire of availing himself of this offer will feel obliged by your directing the necessary introductions & authority to be extended to them in order to carry their intention into effect.

I am Sir your most obedient humble servant
